11% of visitors shared a ride

Every year, Springtij Forum brings together 800 policymakers, scientists and leaders from across society on the island of Terschelling. For three days, they work together on accelerating the Netherlands’ sustainable transition. But first, everyone has to get there — and for many participants, that means driving to Harlingen to catch the ferry.

The challenge

Springtij doesn't just want to talk about sustainability...

They want to put it into practice too, including the way participants travel to the forum. The solution needed to be easy to use, fit seamlessly into the existing registration journey and require no additional coordination from the Springtij team.

The integration

A seamless part of registration

Springtij integrated Slinger directly into the Invitado event app, making ridesharing a natural part of the registration process. Participants could immediately choose to offer or find a ride while registering. The Slinger widget was also available on the Springtij website. Slinger integrates with leading event management platforms including Invitado, Momice, Stager and Cvent.

The result

Springtij participants start networking on the way to Harlingen

Of the 800 attendees, 11% carpooled to Harlingen in 2025: 37 drivers offered 92 seats between them, and 51 attendees carpooled in total. An increase compared to 2024, when 9.4% traveled together. Together, they saved 11,803 kilometers and 2,278 kilos of CO₂. For these attendees, the networking started on the way there.
